{Finding Your Wedding Style}: Can Be a Piece of Cake!
I don't know about you, but I'll forever be inspired by wedding cakes! Maybe it's because I happen to think that your cake really is one of the most exciting ways to show off your wedding style and colors, or maybe it's because I seriously love me some cake. I think it's a little of both to be honest. But seriously, aren't these the prettiest cakes you ever did see? The colors are so original, the compositions are absolutely unique and they are simply bursting with personality...
I think if you're just starting the wedding planning process a good way to discover your own personal wedding style is to look at cakes! Which ones grab you? Which cakes speak to your inner style? Sure there are lots of pretty cakes... Some brides favor sweet and understated designs, while other brides gravitate towards a more elaborate and fancy cake. So what does that tell you?
Well, I personally believe that if after having looked at hundreds of cakes you find yourself loving the same kind of look and feel, that's telling you something. Your cake style really is your wedding style. So whether you're loving modern designs like the one above....
Or sweet, whimsical designs like this fun one with pom toppers, one thing is for sure. It's easy to define your style. All you have to do is find a look that grabs you. And then expand on that one element.
I love cakes with a slightly messy presentation, like these ones. And I love that when I look at this cake below I can instantly imagine an outdoor wedding full of rustic pretties. Maybe for late Summer? Perhaps peach bridesmaid dresses and soft yellow bouquets...see how this works? Really, it only takes one element to inspire an entire wedding day look and I think that using cakes for inspiration really does make for an easy starting off point...
