Gorgeous Southern Wedding | Megan and Alex
Megan and Alex were married in a very quaint and charming spot at the gorgeous, historic Merriweather Manor in the mountains of Leesburg, Virginia. After traveling a scenic gravel road for more than a mile, guests were welcomed at the manor with true Southern hospitality by Megan and Alex and their families.
With photography by Susie & Becky and event planning by Occasions By M&K, just one look and I think you'll see that this couple is very special. And their day was filled with beautiful moments and gorgeous details.
Several special touches made the ceremony personal and memorable. First, both the bride and groom’s mothers read selections out of personalized, monogrammed books that also contained the couple’s personalized vows – such a wonderful keepsake for the couple.
At one point during the ceremony, Megan and Alex were so overcome with emotion that the officiant stopped the ceremony and asked guests to bow their heads and give the couple a moment to speak together. As guests looked off the patio at the stunning mountain views, Megan and Alex whispered and cried together. So absolutely sweet!
And then the party started! A beautiful reception followed the ceremony, complete with dancing, dining, and all kinds of special moments! While Megan and Alex and their guests toasted and danced under the stars, a portable donut stand drove up the road. Everyone enjoyed hot, fresh donuts throughout the rest of the evening!
