Modern Marble Wedding with Minted

Styled at a beautiful historic spot-turned-art gallery, this wedding designed by Minted Stylist, Kelli Hall, is all kinds of creative and colorful! Inspired by marbled patterns, and watercolor washes - this is the stuff that wedding dreams are made of!

The wedding took place in my home state of Georgia at the Historic Loft on Roswell Square. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous and the natural light is truly stunning!

Morgan Blake of Three Pennies did an amazing job capturing all of the details, and I just can't wait to dive into all of the pretty details!

From the designer, "My vision for this special space was drawn from the colors in Minted’s Modern Marble party decor set."

"The cake table was simply set beneath a small Modern Marble Banner with the couple’s initials..."

"...I wanted a white room (representative of a clean artists palette) layered with ribbons of soft blush and mint, along with strokes of pretty feminine color to punctuate the pared-down space...."

The flowers consisted of pink and peach garden roses, light pink tea roses and a handful of poppies tucked in for whimsy and to add a vibrant ‘pop’ to the composition.

A couple of pretty tissue fans on chair backs gives just the right touch of mint!

It was a simple presentation, but the beautiful washes of color in Linda and Harriet’s Ombre design added the perfect amount of color.

The ceremony was simple and pared down, with washes of color in the form of a statement-making aisle runner crafted by transferring a pattern onto an over-sized canvas.

One of my favorite details of the day was the program card. A single program was placed in the seat of each chair.

For a focal element (and as a counterpoint to the modern details in the space) a pint-sized vintage chandelier was hung at the end of the aisle.

Apothecary jars aren’t just for sweets, you guys! I just love how these were used as vessels to hold a bouquets after the ceremony!

For a twist on the classic Champagne Cocktail, rock candy swizzle sticks were used as a garnish with these mini drink flags!

So super easy to serve - simply add a dash of Angostura bitters to the candy stick and drop it in a glass of Champagne or Prosecco just before serving!

The wedding invitation was the perfect choice to set the tone for the wedding. It’s fresh and modern, but also a little playful in its broad areas of color and brushy detail.

A simple drink sign complements the mix and match cocktail options. This blush concoction named The Paloma Cocktail is totally on my must-try list!

A wonderful complement to a Paloma Cocktail: Cocktail napkins with a pretty embellishment! Any sticker will work, but here you'll see that they used these Wooded Blooms stickers to add a little flair!
Some tips to get the look:
  • To add some variety in the dessert display, opt for a mix of cake plate sizes! For instance, here they used a large cake stand and then mixed things up by using two smaller jadeite cake stands.
  • When working with poppies: They come in bunches of assorted colors, so be prepared to embrace the color variations in the form of reds, oranges, yellows, whites and pastels!
Want to know what my favorite part of this wedding design is? That would have to be these amazing DIY shades! What an amazing statement they made!
These simple shades are covered in a Modern Marble Wrapping Paper and held in place by scotch tape! So super simple, if you ask me! The key is creating a template.

These shades were purchased from Bed Bath and Beyond, and a template was created using this amazing marbled paper!

It was trimmed, and wrapped onto the lampshade. If you want to make these yourself, and prefer not to mess with a template, opt for a drum shade over the flare shape that is shown here. It’s as simple as rolling paper around a shade.
