Having lived in the South for over 20 years now, I have to admit that I've truly grown to love
all things Southern. And that goes for Southern weddings too! Because what's not to love?
The venues are charming, the traditions are heartfelt, and the celebrations are some of the sweetest I've seen. Make no mistake about it, m'dears — I have a weakness for Southern weddings. And the Southern elegance that Charleston embodies? Talk about a dream wedding destination.
So sit back, grab a glass of sweet tea, and get ready to watch this gorgeous Southern wedding unfold as it's safe to say that
ELM EVENTS made magic happen on this lovely, September afternoon and lucky for us
Reese Moore Weddings was there to capture it all.
From the designer, "Morgan and Ben's wedding day was filled with with tradition, love, meaning, and praise. When it came to the reception, however, I set out to capture the Southern elegance of Charleston."
"Legare Waring House and the Avenue of Oaks proved to be the perfect place to see capture all of this and more."
"luscious blooms from Branch Design Studio were bursting with color while textured fabrics, and touches of gold added so much visual interest..."
For colors, "A color palette of raspberry and peach tones was perfectly executed and brought the pop of color we were hoping for..."
And this vintage inspired lace gown... Gah! So super pretty, if you ask me!
An amazing wedding bouquet filled with dahlias, ranunculus and dusty miller accented it perfectly... while twinkly lights incorporated a touch of romance...
And how picturesque is this South Carolina scene? Pinks and corals were used throughout the ceremony and reception spaces....
Spanish moss added so much ambiance to the outdoor space... And this bright & cheery blooms? Be still my color-loving heart.
A cute little trolley even came to pick the bridal party up to take them over to the church...
But before long, it was time to head over to the chapel to say, "i do!"
But not before a few sweet snaps of the bouquets, and these head-turning gowns... Oh, and who isn't smiling back at these gorgeous ladies all dolled up and ready to go!
It was truly a Southern affair to remember... Very notebook-esque with the scenery...
Oh, and how dapper are these dudes looking? Such a handsome group of gentlemen!
And hello, amazingly beautiful shots of florals that I will need to pin immediately.
This flower girl trio was quite a vision. Sweetness overload, am I right?
Oh, and can we just pause for a second to truly appreciate the beauty that is this wedding gown?
And just like that... they were pronounced husband and wife! And the happiness that followed? Priceless.
The newlyweds stole a few moments to themselves as they walked the grounds... I mean, how cute is this bride kissing her groom on the cheek?
And then... It was time to celebrate! And celebrate they did!
More from the designer, "One of my favorite features of the venue was that we could use the patio space and lawn for the cocktail hour and move the guests to a second location with a brand new feel for dinner and dancing."
As you can see some heartfelt touches were incorporated to recognize family members.
And can we just all agree that these silver goblets are simply gorgeous? So totally sweet with the monogram — a very Southern touch if I do say so myself.
More from the designer, "the tent was magical with chandeliers and bistro lighting everywhere. Most importantly our dance floor was packed, thanks to the fabulous Rivertown Band!"
From the bride, "When Ben and I were planning the only two aspects Ben had a true interest in were the band and the food, neither of which could have been any better."
"Our goal for the evening was for everyone to have a fabulous time and with the photos from the dance floor as evidence, I think we achieved this goal!"
"People have asked if I am sad the wedding is over, and my response is I cannot possibly be sad because I am so happy it happened."
"The entire weekend of memories will outlast a lifetime and Ben and I are so grateful for all the family and friends who came together to celebrate our marriage! September 12th, 2015 was more than a dream come true!..."
"...after one year and one month of planning every detail of the day I would get to marry the man of my dreams I could not have been more thrilled with how it all unfolded."
"My vision for the day was clear from the very beginning. The two moments I have always anticipated with the most excitement are the church doors opening and getting to see Ben at the end of the aisle and when we are pronounced husband and wife..."
...These two moments did not disappoint, and it could not have been more special since we got married in Ben’s childhood church, Grace Espiscopal Church."
Congrats to the newlyweds! Just one look at these smiles and you can tell that their wedding day was truly special and a day that they will always cherish.
